Media Company Owners and Digital Content Creators, Angelique Fredericks and Ricardo De Leça, plan and prep for their big day as they learn and share tips from dress shopping, to the latest wedding trends, finding the right venue, keeping a handle on wedding stress and effectively managing your budget with Capitec.
Getting to plan their wedding together is the most fulfilling and unexpected reward for digital content creator Angelique Fredericks and videographer Ricardo Joao de Leca. It was business which brought them together – and that working relationship would either make or break them. Truth is, he’d fallen for her from the beginning and after, what they both describe as the perfect sunset and perfect proposal, the couple got engaged and are planning to tie the knot.
First, they needed to set up a wedding fund to allow them to save for the many expenses that a wedding would entail, like the perfect venue and dream dress.
The setting for the celebration of their love really has to be next level but still fall within a manageable price range, and in the Winelands wedding and function venue, Drosberg (https://drosberg.co.za/), run by Jana Roos, they might have struck gold. With the resident planner, Willem Oosthuizen, who knows the venue inside out, the seasons and the wealth of local suppliers, they could potentially have found the perfect team to ensure the couple’s day comes off hitch and drama free.
This was a great start. Venue – tick.
With the venue decided on, the yoga and lifestyle content creator had a final and very important date with a certain, special white dress at Blanco Bridal Couture (https://blancobridal.com/). While the bride did study fashion design and has made her own outfits in the past, she is leaving her dress to the professionals. As it happens, boutique owner Behanke Schutte had her finger on the pulse of a silhouette which fit Angelique like a glove. Naturally, the big reveal will have to wait.
Two of the biggest expenses of a wedding were now almost secured, meaning their savings and wedding budget became the focus. Capitec client, Angelique, opened a savings account where the couple could save every extra cent they managed to accumulate, for exactly this time. And, with Capitec bank at their side, the couple felt confident that they would be able to celebrate their union just how they imagined through utilising the range of budgetary, savings and lending options available to Capitec clients like the credit card or access facility.

For both Capitec and Angelique, responsible borrowing/lending, affordability and paying off as much as possible each month, was of paramount importance and allows the couple to spread the weight and expenses over time while enjoying added benefits like cashback on your spend with Live Better.

Finally, to work out the stress that comes with all these big decisions, Angelique might normally pour herself a bubble bath with candles – but having found her dress and potentially, their wedding venue, the afternoon called for extra spoiling. Renchia Droganis, from Africology Spa, had something special in store.
Afterall, remaining sane, balancing work, planning a wedding and taking time out to enjoy each other and be in love, really, is just as important as the dress, venue and budget.
