ACTRESS PORTIA JOEL WEDS LONGTIME PARTNER IN SEASIDE WEDDING

Actress Portia Joel weds Romaine Rhoda, with a supporting cast of Summer, The Mountain and Table Bay all playing their part.

Portia Joel is a South African actress and television presenter best known for her role as Randy in the SABC1 soapie Generations and for hosting the SABC3 magazine show Curious Culture. Portia grew up in Cape Town and is the daughter of Cedwyn Joel, who is famous for his role in Suidooster and mentored her.

She and Romaine Rhoda have been dating for a long time – and having waited a decade to tie the knot, they weren’t allowing Covid to derail their big day a third time.

Over the moon to finally say their ‘I Do’s’, they were surrounded by their loved ones at a venue with some of the best views of Cape Town – Blaauwberg Beach Hotel.

Portia, who recently played the role of a bride, was beautifully dressed by Adri Andrews and Fagin Hardine and ready to step into the real thing.

Working for a top South African retailer, Romaine knows a fine suit when she sees it and Brendon van der Vyver has delivered it.

For the time of year, the colour scheme was a bold departure. Co-ordinator Clayton Peters explained how natural light was the key to the ‘Autumn in Summer’ theme and the sentiment behind it uniting the couple’s two seasons.

It was a beautiful occasion that culminated with the couple sharing how eager they are to embrace all the good times of their loving union and take hands to weather any rough seas they may face.
