DANE ERWEE & CHRIS WILLEMSE TURNED LOVE OF NATURE INTO COMMERCIAL SUCCESS

Meet floral designers Dane Erwee and Chris Willemse who are growing their bottom line from their own modern farmhouse.

Pretty good going for two guys who grew up on farms and made such a commercial success from their love of Nature.

Stellenbosch floral designers and entrepreneurs Dane Erwee and Chris Willemse both grew up on farms with stone floors, high ceilings and chalked walls. For their own home, they imagined a classic Cape farmhouse but then fell for architect Henri Comri’s more timeless design.

Johannesdal is a whimsical home that lies along a stream of the same name, and is encircled by magnificent mountains.

The farm lies in the heart of the winelands and was conceived in 2006 by the florists and gardeners who’ve made the farm and its houses their personal canvas.

As founding directors of the florist Okasie in Stellenbosch, their aesthetic spills over into the shop and its events warehouse where they design their own furniture and fashion bespoke pieces for a magical atmosphere.
