Adene Nieuwoudt – through her Flower Farm – has established itself as a widely-recognised producer of long-lasting flowers.
Adene Nieuwoudt, of Adene’s Flower Farm, has translated her love of nature into a blossoming business that supplies rare-cut flowers and bulbs across South Africa, where customers can purchase immaculate blossoms from all over the world.
Nestled in Wolseley in the Western Cape, Adene’s Flower Farm is today a widely-recognised producer of long-lasting and fresh-cut flowers and foliage.
Most often, you might see Adene’s flowers in high-profile venues such as receptions, weddings, celebrations, or other events – where her signature flowers reign supreme with a dazzling assortment of petal shapes and colours.
Adene Flower Farm specialises in growing unusual varieties of flowers and foliage not commonly seen by most South Africans. Each plant is grown in optimal conditions to deliver beautiful foliage when both growing in the ground, and rooted in a vase.
Adene Flower farm had humble beginnings. “When I came here ten years ago, it was just a fruit farm – and my husband created a vegetable garden for me; I started growing it, and I realized I enjoyed it!”, says Adene.
After posting pictures of her flowers online and realising the apparent interest in what she had grown, Adene and her husband quickly realised that a new business had been born.
Today, Adene imports flowers from around the world to grow her collection, and most of the seeds Adene grows come from abroad – including destinations such as Italy, Holland, Germany, and more.

Additionally, customers can also purchase flowers by colour or month from Adene’s online store, and can further choose to buy their own seeds or tubers instead.
“What brings me the most joy is seeing everything in flower; we have open days, where people can come in the summer and appreciate everything… that gives me a lot of joy to see all the happiness around me,” Adene concludes.
Adene’s creativity has today grown into a thriving success story, where visitors from throughout the country are able to appreciate the fruits of her work – whether they attend an open day, or whether they purchase flowers for an upcoming wedding, birthday, or other celebration.
