Many hobbyists find extreme dedication for activities that are totally different from their vocations. For Sachin Nathoo, a chief information officer at a private hospital, his passion lies in the world of model aircrafts.
Sachin has been captivated by the thrill of building and flying these incredible machines for many years. So much so, that his family thought he would become a pilot. However, his interest and stress release come from making the model plans because when he’s building planes that’s all he thinks about.
The Cape Town based enthusiast’s fascination has seen his collection grow from foam model planes and aerobatics, to include larger 100-cc petrol powered planes, turbine jets and RC helicopters.
For those interested in getting into the sport, he suggests finding your nearest model flying club and then taking it from there. It’s never too late to try something new, but we say seize the day!
