EXPLORE BOSJES IN THE BOLAND WITH DIE HEUWELS FANTASTIES

We discover the beauty of Bosjes in the Boland, with Die Heuwels Fantasties hot off the release of their latest album Volume.

We meet the men from Die Heuwels Fantasties at the idyllic Bosjes situated in the fertile Breedekloof Valley, surrounded by the Waaihoek and Slanghoek mountains.

The historic, working family farm is known for their olives, peaches and incredible Pincushion Proteas, which the band had a glorious time picking.

Pierre Greef, Hunter Kennedy and Fred den Hartog have just released their latest project Volume, which is one of four albums the rock-musos release since the start of lockdown in South Africa.

Having spent more than 12 years on the road together, the downtime lockdown offered gave the band fresh opportunity to channel their energy into releasing brand new music for their adoring fans.

The band were joined by Fred’s longtime girlfriend Razel Swart, for a luxurious stay at Bosjes, known for their award-winning architecture and their Chapel – which has hosted many celebrity weddings.

The historic venue has evolved from a working Boland family farm into a breakaway for families searching for a day in nature, and a picturesque destination for weddings and functions.

Bosjes’ General Manager, Carlen Vorster, took the musos for a tour of the venue, and shared that the farm is one of the oldest in the valley, and now offers incredible hiking trails. These hikes offer visitors the opportunity to get close to many antelope species such as bontebok, zebra, Eland and Oryx.

An opportunity the band could not miss out on!

Hot off the release of the bands 8th studio album, the band are set to release Volume 2 off the back of it.

The rockers are keen the world has opened so they can return to playing live shows, and while unwinding at Bojes it presented the perfect opportunity to regroup before returning to perform for their fans across SA.
