KIM LINGS TURNS YOUR CHERISHED MEMORIES INTO CUDDLY INFINITY BEARS, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD FOREVER

Because we can always do with a hug, stand a chance to win your own, unique, designer, hand-made teddy bear named Remy, to the value of five thousand Rand.

During COVID restrictions Johannesburg-based travel consultant Kim Lings had a brain wave. Thinking about how to stay in touch with cherished people in our lives, the idea of ‘memory bears’ struck her as a way in which people can connect.

“Unfortunately a friend of mine had a tragic loss of a son in January 2021 and I was lying in bed one night thinking how awful it must be. I thought ‘imagine if you had something to hold’ and about the comfort it would bring. I thought of teddy bears because everyone loves a teddy bear – so that’s what gave me the idea of starting Infinity Bears,” explains founder and owner Kim.

From when we’re babies to our old age, touch is the most comforting sense, and teddy bears are always up for a hug.

To turn her idea into reality, Kim approached Jackie Reymann to be her Creative Director. It was a job offer like no other.

“I embarked on this journey with Kim because she approached me to sew and put together the bears, and I love a challenge, fabric and sewing so it was the best of both those words for me,” says Jackie.

They’ve started incorporating authentic designer items like scarves, handbags and clothing in addition to creating memory bears from clothing that clients would provide for a custom bear.

To be irreplaceable, the handcrafted works of art are one-of-a-kind – and that captures the spirit of each bear.
