Adrian and Hayley Ceruti are Capitec clients, and the owners and directors of Atlantic Yachting – a thriving business that’s living proof that yachting and sailing can be a viable career and leisure option beyond the professional sport.
“Atlantic Yachting offers a wide range of sailing courses specifically aimed at young people who want to go work on yachts overseas, and also for our recreational sailor who just wants to learn to sail locally. Over and above that, we also offer many other courses that are attractive on the crew’s CVs when they’re looking for work overseas,” shares Hayley Ceruti.
The duo met while working on a super yacht abroad and turned their passion for sailing into a business upon their return to South Africa.
Adrian and Hayley started off by hiring a yacht for their training. They systematically acquired one every three years and now own four of the power vessels.
As the business grew, so did their banking needs
“We attend boat shows every year and decided to have a credit card machine there one year. We were offering promotions and good prices on the day for those paying for their course, and thought it would be nice to have a pay point on site. We were lucky enough to get a Capitec card machine, and that worked really well for us,” says Hayley who oversees the sales and marketing side of the business.

This works well for our business because we don’t have a lot of walk-in customers, so prefer to pay as we use the machine.”

The device connects to your smart device via Bluetooth and is driven by the Capitec merchant app. Payments are quick and easy because it’s able to process chip, Tap to Pay, and Masterpass QR transactions,” expands Marli.
