Les Créatifs is shaking up the Johannesburg food scene with its experiential dining that takes guests on a gastronomic journey.

Wandile Mabaso is a boy from Soweto who grew up to be one of the country’s leading chefs. Having honed his skills abroad, he returned home to shake up the Johannesburg restaurant scene with exciting experimental dining at Les Créatifs Restaurant. The establishment is the first of its kind in South Africa where fine dining meets a world-class wine list, cocktails, visual art, outstanding décor, interior design and ceramic art in an exclusive dining space in Hobart Grove Centre, Sandton.

The dining experience is a collaboration between Wandile Mabaso and world-class interior designer Donald Nxumalo. Together they’ve ensured every element of the restaurant was curated to bring out the best in food creativity. The intimate 40-seater venue boasts an open view kitchen showcasing exquisite live cooking, and serves it’s haute cuisine on special ceramic plates designed and handmade in collaboration with world-class ceramic artist, Andile Ndyalvane. 

Mozambican refugee Arlindo Maunde also proudly displays his art here. Arlindo, despite having no formal training, was encouraged to go full-time into art whilst working as a deliveryman and hasn’t looked back. His work has been exhibited in Germany, Dubai, the US and most recently at Les Créatifs.
