FIND OUT HOW THE UNPACKED WITH RELEBOGILE MABOTJA HOST FINDS BALANCE IN HER BUSY LIFE

We caught up with entertainment legend and new mom Relebogile Mabotja, and in the process discovered new ways to destress.

Actress, writer, new mother and successful TV host Relebogile Mabotja does it all. We spend the day with this warm and majorly talented individual to uncover how she balances it all.

If you’re new to Unpacked with Relebogile Mabotja, it’s a frank local production on SABC 3 that unpacks real issues and human interest stories.

“I’ve been a producer and a presenter for many years, but this is the first time that I am executive producing / presenting / hosting something that was my brainchild. It’s a show for the people, but I’m also doing it for me – I’m proud of that, and proud of making life-altering content,” shares the media personality and businesswoman.

Juggling so many hats and such a busy life has a tendency to take a toll on the body, so Relebogile is a big believer in self-care.

With that in mind she tapped the resource of certified health coach, Christine Philips of Health Yourself Detox Kitchen for nutritional, convenient but tasty meal ideas.

One of her recommendations was a Miso Soup that has gut restoring properties thanks to the fermented soya beans. The hot water liquid consisting of fresh lime, ginger, chillie (optional), salt and pepper mixed together then poured over rice noodles, courgette spirals and a selection of brightly coloured vegetables proved a quick, simple and effective solution for Relebogile who’s always on the go.

The session in the kitchen was followed by a Tibetan Sound Therapy Yoga Class with Angela Myers of The ISHTA Studio of Yoga & Health

A Tibetan singing bowl is a type of bell that vibrates and produces a rich, deep tone when played, said to promote relaxation and offer powerful healing properties.

In preparation for a deep relaxation session with the sound bowels, Angela took Relebogile through a warming yoga class.

“It’s so interesting that the older we get we start to chase more success, and chase the accumulation of things, when actually we should be striving to return to self,” states the media personality.

She adds, “It’s crazy that we need access to things like yoga therapy to learn to live with less, and to return to ourselves.”

That brought us to the conclusion of our day with the mom and businesswoman who believes that things like eating well and finding time for self are a non negotiable. A recipe that is certainly working for Relebogile because there clearly isn’t much this powerful woman can’t do!
