SANDI MAZIBUKO: THE GIRL BOSS WHO’S CREATIONS INSPIRE FASHION-FORWARD SOUTH AFRICANS

We meet Sandi Mazibuko, the proudly South African designer who’s creations inspire the wardrobes of the modern day woman.

Known for her creative skills as a business woman, Sandi Mazibuko is the mastermind behind a House of Fabrosanz, which has found a niche in the wardrobes of many fashion-forward ladies in South Africa.

Celebrated for their striking African prints, Sandi shares insight into her personal style and influence, “my style is modern classic, and with that I try to incorporate African fashion into it because I’ve always noticed that when people wear an African print, they consider it a traditional ‘event situation’. But it can be completely wearable fashion. We can wear it with a pair of jeans”

This past year has been an exciting one for the designer, who created an exquisite monochrome collection for the Top 10 Finalists of Miss South Africa and opened her first store in a retail environment in Mall of Africa.

Sandi proudly reveals what’s soon to come, “we are planning on taking the brand international. We’ve already started with our online store – which has people shopping from all over the world. So that’s the plan – to go worldwide and take fashion to the next level.”

We asked Sandi about her take on the ethos behind The Insider SA – that being to inspire others to live better.

What does ‘living better’ mean to you?

“Living better means to do what I love and be able to make a living out of it.”

What legacy would you like to leave behind?

“The beautiful culture inspired prints we created. To have changed how we as South Africans see African prints. Be known as a designer on the forefront who’s taking South African fashion to the world.”

What two valuable pieces of advice would you like to share with South Africa?

“We have a very rich country with inspiration all around us, use what you have to create the future you want” and “No one is coming to save you.”

Where do you go to escape and connect with yourself?

“I just travel to different places as I love traveling.”

Do you have an encouraging quote in closing for us?

“Your life is your message to the world, make sure it’s inspiring.”
