GETTING INTO THE FESTIVE SPIRIT WITH TANQUERAY AND BLUE MBOMBO
The Insider SA spends the afternoon with 2020’s Most Stylish Model, Blue Mbombo and her inside circle as they celebrate the festive season with Tanqueray.
Nobody does the Festive Season quite like South Africans. Even 2020’s Most Stylish Model winner, Blue Mbombo likes to kick off her summer in style and surrounded by her closest friends. This year, Blue has had plenty to celebrate. As a reality TV star, businesswoman, and creative influencer, Blue is one of the honorary stars for the Tanqueray 2020 Gifting Campaign. Reconnecting with close friends after time spent apart is something we’re all looking forward to this summer season. As the year comes to a close, Blue is treating herself and dear friends to a celebratory lunch where they can clink glasses topped with Tanqueray at this intimate reunion.
Joining Blue for the afternoon is her twin sister and fellow model and businesswoman, Brown Mbombo; there’s stylist to the stars, Nceba Classen; actress and reality TV Star, Mbali Nkosi; award-winning blogger and influencer, Lolos Kloset; and Blue’s close friend, Tebogo Modise.
Blue shares with The Insider SA her love for the festive season, family time, and the joy of giving and receiving. She explains, “The idea behind this gathering that I’m having was simply to enjoy a bottle of Tanqueray with very close friends and family”.
Blue’s friend, Tebogo Modise comments, “It’s going to be a blast because it’s always like that, especially when Tanqueray is involved”. Stylist, Nceba Claasen adds, “When we’re having Tanqueray together, the mood is always nice. We haven’t seen each other for a long time so these drinks are really bringing people together while we’re all catching up”.
Together, this squad seems more like a family, Nceba explains. At the centre of it all is Blue. Mbali Nkosi shares, “Ever since I’ve been friends with Blue, she’s been my rock. She’s actually one of the most loyal people you’ll ever meet in your life”. Lolos adds, “Blue is a very honest friend. She’s the type of girl who doesn’t hold back. When I moved to Joburg, she was one of my first friends here and her friendship has always been consistent”.
No one knows this better than her twin sister, Brown. Simply put, Brown explains, “She’s my bestie. We do almost everything together”.
As the Tanqueray cocktails pour, the group can’t help but get up and start to dance. Lolos explains, “I won’t lie, every time we’re together, it’s total fun”. For Brown, she loves how perfectly the cocktails compliment the friend’s catch up chats.
Truly appreciative of her close connections, Blue shares, “I believe each and every person that comes into your life is either there to bring you love or to teach you a lesson. For me, friends means everything. My friends support me a lot. It’s all about loving one another, supporting one another, and just empowering each other as women”.
