LET OFF STEAM AT THE KRUGER STATION

The opening of the Kruger’s latest attraction sees history come alive with a modern twist.

Kruger Station is a lifestyle precinct in Skukuza Rest Camp, perfectly positioned along the historical Selati line in the renowned Kruger National Park. The entire experience is centred around the magic of the station’s past, paying homage to a significant piece of South African history.

Originally The Selati Railway connected Komatipoort with Tzaneen during the gold rush, before being opened to the public and eventually disbanded in 1973.  Today new life and a sense of modernisation has been given to the station, allowing its iconic legacy to take on new life.

There was a tremendous sense of eagerness to open their doors to the public and show off all of the amenities they provide including a restaurant, deli, bar, kids play area and gift shop.

The artisanal menu focuses on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, with a diverse range of options to suit any palate. The food on offer is also a nostalgic nod to the style of the old train.

The space is more than just a place to enjoy delicious foods though. It boasts a range of points of interests that includes a cinema, where patrons can enjoy a game viewing experience that impressively mimics the real thing.

The Kruger Station is loaded with a rich sense of history that brings with it a feeling of excitement. We encourage you to add a stop to your itinerary when you’re next on route to the area.
