SPEND A DAY IN THE LIFE OF KYLE DEUTSCH

See how Durban based hit-maker Kyle Deutsch also has a career as chiropractor.

After rising to popularity following his performance in a popular singing competition, Kyle Deutsch has been establishing a career as an artist. He is however, a man of many talents and is in addition to being an award-winning musician, an award-winning chiropractor and avid beach soccer player.

We caught up with him in his hometown of Durban to find out how he juggles so many balls, as well as learn more about his career in the medical space that takes 6 years to study, and can interestingly enough only be learnt at two universities within South Africa.

“My mom used to always go to a chiropractor, and I used to go with her. I found that it really helped to concentrate in class. Chiropractors are also really good with kids with ADHD or concentration problems as it decreases the irritation on the nerves… This helped to keep my brother and I healthy, but also to keep us functioning as well as possible.” shares Kyle.

We got the opportunity to meet Kyle’s older brother Luke – whom he has a very close bond with, along with many fond memories of corridor cricket and pushing each other to be the best. Luke joined Kyle for a friendly game of footie.

“Growing up I loved football. I ate, slept and drank football. My father being an ex-professional footballer really inspired me, and I really think that the disciplines that come with football really taught me a lot in terms of time management, keeping your fitness going and self discipline, which are some of the practices that are really important for day-to-day life,” says the artist.

He adds, “The most challenging part of wearing different hats and being in different careers is that you need to try and stay on the top and be on your A-game at every appointment, at every training session, at every studio session and every performance. Balancing those out and making sure that you’re always prepared for each situation when it comes along.”

Kyle Deutsch certainly is a reminder that the world is your oyster and that you don’t only have to have one passion in life. With hard work and time management, it’s possible to have multiple unique careers.
