CAPITEC LAUNCHES THE #LetsStartToday CAMPAIGN
Guests join Capitec in Cape Town to celebrate the launch of the bank’s mission to reinspire every South African to realise dreams and live better.
After a challenging last year with rising inflation, load shedding, petrol hikes and worldwide political unrest, Capitec, South Africa’s leading digital bank with over 19 million clients, recognized the urgent need to give the country a much-needed reboot and help South Africans redefine who they are, what they want, and what they need to live better with the launch of the #LetsStartToday campaign. The #LetsstatToday campaign, kicking off in the final months of 2022, allows people to pin a dream (such as buying a car, starting a business, or owning their first home) on an interactive digital map called the Great South African Dream Board – a first-of-its-kind in the banking space. The bank will then select a dream a month over the next year and partner with the dreamer to make it a reality.
We joined guests and the Capitec in a stunning garden setting at the imaginatively curated launch event in Cape Town, where Capitec’s Acting Manager for Digital Communications and PR, Chandre Mtalala explained the motivation, “Capitec’s #LetsStartToday campaign is all about inspiring Mzanzi to dream again – to get you to start thinking about a dream, change it into a goal ad then actualize it. So, financially, you need to start planning and saving for your goals and it’s important as a bank that we inspire South Africans into that space where you have that behaviour shift, you make your moves and you get your dreams done.”
The brief to events planner, Margaux van den Berg, was to create a fairy-like dream garden setting which would encourage guests to revel in the whimsical theme allowing the guests to escape the realities of every day life and connect and visualize what they dream to achieve. There were a host of exciting inclusions to the running order aimed at inspiring playful dreaming – from visiting the dream garden, taking a polaroid and writing your dream on it, a vision board masterclass and time to get down on the dance floor.
The leading digital bank says its new campaign is another example of how it’s adding real value to people’s lives and helping them live better by setting goals, managing their money and putting them in control of their future.
