J’SOMETHING ON RERECORDING, REFLECTING AND MI CASA

During lockdown, J’Something rediscovered songs that shaped his music. Realising what a hidden treasure they were, he and some friends rerecorded ten of them and he’s now taking those songs on tour.

J’Something (Joao da Fonseca) is known for his role as the vocalist, songwriter and guitarist for Mi Casa. He used lockdown as a moment to reflect, listen to music that inspired him growing up and re-recorded ten of them and is taking on tour.

“Music has allowed me to travel, it’s allowed me to learn, allowed me to explore, allowed me to inspire and be inspired from. It’s been such a blessing.”

As a songwriter, J’Something admits that journaling is one of the habits that help him center himself as a person and as a songwriter.

“Even if it’s just one line or two pages, it’s always a nice thing to reflect back on.”

As for MiCasa fans, the SAMA winning trio have been laying down new tracks and can’t wait to release it to the world.

“Being in a band, we’re constantly collabing between myself, Mo-T and Dr. Duda and that’s the fun of being in a band is that you’re never alone.“

That J’Something is ready to show the new side of his music and give people something to be inspired by.
