CAPITEC'S MARKETING TEAM TAKE A FESTIVE BREAK TO REFLECT ON THE PAST YEAR

The hard-working marketing team from Capitec celebrate the achievements of 2022 on a festive break in Langebaan.

A festive getaway up the West Coast was a fitting year end party for a team who’ve spent every working minute of 2022 figuring how Capitec’s nineteen million customers can ‘live better’. This was the team who spent the year navigating the digital waters of social media and the online space to ensure that the bank truly provided each customer the chance to grow and improve their lives with simpler banking, better service and all the tools at their fingertips to truly live better. It’s heartening to know that behind the apps and saving and payment innovations are simply a group of everyday South Africans. The group responsible for marketing, digital communications, content and Av studio consisted of Justin Issacs, Jordan Dunn, Phumzile Andries, Kauthar Marlie, Esona Ndongeni and Lyle Khan.

Staying true to their commitment to celebrate the full scope of South Africa in all its natural glory, along with its people, the team took the chance to visit the coastal town of Langebaan and stay at The View uncover a new corner of South Africa. After a year packed with innovative campaigns from the bank to improve the lives of their customers, as well as numerous programmes and events dedicated to giving back to the larger community, the group had earned their chance to sit back and enjoy seasonal festivities.

For the special occasion, Jadeene Janse van Rensburg, a local event planner, decorated the space in true beachcomber style to pay homage to the rustic charm of the seaside town. Chef Etienne Du Toit prepared a festive meal that the team won’t soon forget and Simonsvlei’s, Benjamin Van Rensburg, matched the meal with a variety of wines pairing to honour another proudly South African yield.

Culminating with a toast to the past year and well wishes for the coming to all South Africans, it was unanimous, the success and satisfaction achieved as a team after each campaign – despite storms they faced – was what it was all about. Their hope for 2023 is to continue to take pride in the service they provided as Capitec employees to their customers to ease the struggles of modern life and promote the pursuit to live better.
